Working with Lucky’s Watch

What makes Lucky’s Watch different?

One company handles walking, sitting, and pet waste cleanup, so your access details and your pet’s routine live in one place and get followed on every visit, rather than being relearned by someone new each time.

What happens when we come out?

If your pet is reactive or has special needs, we meet at your home so we can meet your pet on their own turf. That in-person visit is required before booking, no exceptions. Otherwise a video meet and greet works just as well, if you already have your own way to let us in (an existing lockbox, a keypad or garage code, a hidden key, or similar). If we need to supply a lockbox, the meet and greet has to be in person, since it’s handed over and set up at that visit. Either way we go through routine, feeding, medication, triggers, and how we’ll get in and out. We go over your pet’s profile together and set up home access. Your service agreement is signed online in the client portal before the first visit. There’s no charge and no obligation to book.

In-person meet and greets run 30 to 60 minutes. Pet waste removal doesn’t use a meet and greet, just a free quote.

What are your hours?

Walking and sitting visits run 10am to 10pm, Monday through Saturday, tuck-ins included. Visits are scheduled in 2-hour arrival blocks, so you know roughly when to expect us without needing to be home for an exact minute. Pet waste cleanups run Monday through Friday. You’re told which day of the week your yard is serviced, woven into that day’s walking and sitting stops. Visits before 10am, after 10pm, or any Sunday visit are available by request, subject to availability, for a flat $8. They aren’t a standing time block.

Do you offer discounts?

Two: a 10% recurring discount for dog walking and pet sitting, and the 10% Heroes Discount for law enforcement, firefighters, EMTs and paramedics, military including veterans, and healthcare workers. On walking or sitting, Heroes stacks with the recurring discount for 15% total. The Heroes Discount applies to pet waste removal too, at 10% off the monthly rate. The recurring discount doesn’t apply there, since those rates are already the final price, so there’s nothing for Heroes to stack with. On a one-time walking or sitting booking with no recurring service, the Heroes discount is 10% on its own. Neither applies to fees or surcharges.

How does the recurring discount work?

Put your dog walking or pet sitting visits on a standing schedule and every visit on that schedule is 10% off, tuck-ins included. If your standing visit falls before 10am, after 10pm, or on a Sunday, the discount still comes off the visit rate, but the $8 after-hours fee is never discounted. All other fees and surcharges work the same way. It doesn’t apply to pet waste cleanups. Their recurring rates are already the final, best price.

There’s no contract or minimum term, and no separate signup. We set the schedule at your meet and greet and the discounted rate is simply what you’re billed. One-off visits booked outside your standing schedule are priced normally.

Which animals do you care for?

Dogs, indoor cats, fish, and small animals like rabbits, guinea pigs, and hamsters. Same three tiers and same prices for all of them. We don’t care for birds or exotic animals, and we offer drop-in visits only, no overnight stays or boarding.

My dog is reactive or has special needs. Will you take him?

Yes, that’s much of why this business exists. Pets with reactivity, anxiety, medical complexity, or specific behavioral needs are welcome. Request service and we’ll meet in person before any booking. For reactive pets that in-person visit is required before any booking, no exceptions. If your pet needs separate walks or care, being kept apart from other pets or people, a muzzle or other special equipment, or specific routes or times, there’s a $15 special handling fee per visit, and those pets book a Standard (30-minute) or Extended (60-minute) visit, not a potty break. We can’t care for a dog that animal control has designated dangerous or potentially dangerous. A dog that has injured someone is considered case by case, in person.

Are there extra fees I should know about?

All of them are published: $7 for each 15 minutes beyond your booked visit, $15 for bookings made under 24 hours out, $15 per visit on major holidays, $8 for after-hours, and $15 per visit for special handling. The first two pets are covered at the tier price; a $5 fee starts with the 3rd pet. Pet waste removal fees (additional dog and buildup surcharges) are on the Pet Waste Removal page.

Do you serve my neighborhood?

We’re serving ZIP 98662 (Vancouver, WA) at launch, with select bookings taken in 98682 as routes allow. Outside those ZIPs? Join the Early Access List and we’ll reach out when your area opens up. See the full service area map.

What happens in a medical emergency?

We’re NAPPS certified and hold American Red Cross Cat and Dog First Aid certification. Your vet’s contact info and emergency authorization are kept on file, so we can act fast and you’re never left guessing. If your pet needs to go to the vet, transport and waiting time are billed at the Extended rate for the first hour, then $7 for each 15 minutes. Any vet bill we pay for you is invoiced, due within 14 days.

Do you administer medications?

Yes, oral and topical medications at no extra charge. We don’t administer injections.

Can I schedule an exact arrival time?

For walking and sitting, we give a 2-hour arrival window, not an exact time. Pet waste cleanups are scheduled by day only, with no window.

Do you offer plant watering or mail collection?

Yes. Watering plants, bringing in mail, and opening or closing blinds and turning lights on or off, as you ask, are included free with pet sitting visits. Extensive plant care is $5 to $10 per visit, quoted first.

How do booking and updates work?

Scheduling, agreements, and visit reports all live in a client portal. Every visit gets notes and photo updates, so you know what happened while you were out. A signed service agreement and your pet’s completed profile come before the first visit, always.

Do I need to be home?

No. Most clients aren’t. We work out keys, codes, or lockbox access at the meet and greet, and it stays the same arrangement visit after visit. For pet waste cleanups you never need to be home. Just leave the gate accessible.

What counts as recurring?

A standing schedule with no set end date, like every Tuesday and Thursday until you tell us otherwise. Booking a run of visits for a set stretch of time, such as twice a day for the week you’re away, is a one-time booking at the standard rate, even if it adds up to a lot of visits. The question is whether the schedule has an end date, not how many visits are in it.

Do first responders get the discount on yard cleanup too?

Yes. The recurring discount doesn’t apply to pet waste removal, but the Heroes Discount does, 10% off the monthly rate.

When am I charged?

Recurring services are charged on the 1st of each month for that month’s visits, and a new plan is charged for the rest of its first month when it’s confirmed. Visits booked for a set stretch of days, and holiday bookings, are charged when you book. A single visit is charged after the visit. A cancelled prepaid visit is credited on your next charge.

What’s your cancellation policy?

Cancel 24 hours ahead or more, no charge. Under 24 hours, 50% of the visit. If we arrive and can’t reach your pet or home, the full visit. Holiday visits need 48 hours’ notice to cancel free; under 48 hours is 50%. If we cancel on you with under 48 hours’ notice, you get a credit for that visit on your next charge. Recurring pet waste removal plans work differently; see below.

Do pets need to be vaccinated?

Dogs, cats, and ferrets must be vaccinated against rabies, as Washington law requires, with proof available on request.

Pet waste cleanup questions

What is pet waste management, and why does it matter?

Pet waste management means removing waste from your yard on a consistent schedule, not whenever you get to it. Left alone, it breaks down into your lawn, spreads odor, draws pests, and carries bacteria that doesn’t stay contained. If you have kids, guests, multiple dogs, or Pacific Northwest rain, that adds up fast.

We treat it as routine maintenance, not a catch-up job. That’s the standard on every visit.

How is cleanup priced?

Recurring plans are priced per dog, not by yard size, so a big yard with one dog doesn’t cost more than a small one. One-time cleanups start at $60, based on yard size and any buildup, quoted before we start. Weekly is $82/month for one dog, plus $10/month per additional dog. Unusually complex yards (multiple zones, heavy gravel or bark, poor access) are quoted from photos, or with an optional walk-through if you’d rather.

Is the first cleanup really free?

Yes, when you start a recurring plan (weekly, twice weekly, or every other week). A one-time cleanup with no ongoing plan starts at $60 and isn’t eligible for the free-cleanup offer.

What if the yard hasn’t been cleaned in months?

That’s normal and it’s not a judgment. Tell us in your quote request (a couple photos help) and any existing buildup is factored into your first cleanup price before we start. After that, the recurring rate is the recurring rate.

Where does the waste go?

Bagged and placed in your garbage cart, which the City of Vancouver confirms is the correct disposal method here. Haul-away isn’t offered.

Do you cancel for rain?

No. Rain is the operating environment around here, not an event. Rain gear is part of the uniform and your visit happens. If conditions are truly unsafe and we can’t complete a visit, we reschedule it.

Can you deodorize, too?

Not yet, but it’s coming. An enzyme deodorizing add-on and a pet-, kid-, and grass-safe sanitizing treatment are both planned for spring 2027. Ask to be notified when they launch.

Can I skip or pause service?

You can pause your plan any time through the client portal. Plans are a flat monthly rate, so a skipped visit isn’t credited.

What’s your guarantee?

If you tell us within 24 hours that a visit wasn’t done as booked or to our standard, we’ll come back and fix it at no charge. If it can’t be fixed, you get a credit for that visit on your next charge.
